What to Expect: Your PET-CT Journey at KCC

1. Preparation & Injection Upon arrival, a small amount of a radiotracer (typically FDG) is administered. This is a glucose-based liquid that cancer cells naturally “thirst” for.
2. The Resting Phase You will rest in a quiet, comfortable room for about 45–60 minutes. This allows the tracer to circulate and be absorbed by high-metabolism areas.
3. The Scan The actual scan is painless and typically takes 20–30 minutes. You simply lie still on the scanner bed while the machine captures images from multiple angles.
